What is Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE)? – Skyrim Script Extender is a third-party tool that can be a plugin to Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s PC version. This plugin allows players to create, change, add additional functions of the game and update mods. Mods refer to modifications, which are alterations of the game’s program codes and extend game’s scripting capabilities and players can play it with their customized purposes. This is used by many Skyrim mods and now if you want to explore and modify Skyrim then you have to install SKSE. How to download SKSE (Skyrim Script Extender)
Step 1 – Download Skyrim Scrip Extender from its official website. We recommend you to down “7z Archive”, it is better than the installer.
Note: You should have installed .zip extractor to extract files from the .zip format.
Step 2 – Extract the Skyrim Script Extender files. Instead of extracting to any other folder select “Extract Here”. A folder will be created in the same location.
Step 3 – Now in another window open Skyrim path directory. The common path is C:Program FilesSteamsteammappscommonskyrim.
Step 4 – Now from SKSE folder copy all of the .dll and .exe files to Skyrim Folder.
Step 5 – Now, open the “DataScripts” folders in the Skyrim folder and SKSE folders as well.
Step 6 – Once all done then copy all of the .pex files from the SKSE to the Skyrim folder.
Step 7 – Now, get back to Skyrim game directory in PC and select “Create Shortcut” by clicking right on “.skse_loader.exe”. Now put the shortcut to Desktop.
Step 8 – Open and start the Steam now, kindly note that steam must be running before you start modified Skyrim.
Step 9 – Open the shortcut of Skyrim we have dragged on Desktop.
